Abstract
Nineteen atomic basis functions are included in the close-coupling calculation for electron capture from ground-state atomic hydrogen by an alpha particle. The energy range covered is from 6.25 to 400 keV of the alpha particle impact. The calculated total capture cross sections are in fairly good agreement with recent experimental data. Keywords
