Abstract
The inelastic electron-deuteron scattering is completely re-examined on the basis of the recent Orsay experiments described in an accompanying paper. The expression for the differential cross section is derived on a more general basis, the rescattering corrections predicted by different methods are compared extensively, and their effects on the nucleon form factors are discussed. Keywords
