Abstract
Presentation of CaseA 29-year-old man was admitted to the hospital for the fourth time because of an increasing cough and fever.There was a 10-year history of bisexual activity, with treatment in the past for primary syphilis, gonorrhea, and oral candidiasis. The patient's sexual partners included one man with Kaposi's sarcoma and a Haitian man. Chronic cervical and inguinal lymphadenopathy developed eight years before entry. Twenty-two months before admission a serologic test for human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) antibodies was positive.
