Abstract
Basal secretion was studied in 10 animals. In many experiments on 10 dogs there was no basal secretion in volume, or in free HCl, for prolonged periods of time. In a few experiments, there was no secretion during a period of 375 minutes. It is believed that, with further precautions and refinements of the experimental procedure, it can be shown that fasting normal dogs probably have no basal gastric secretion. Keywords
