Craniopharyngiomas in the Aged

Abstract
Two cases of craniopharyngioma in patients aged 60 and 65 are reported. There is no pathognomonic clinical picture of craniopharyngioma in the aged; mental deterioration may be the only manifestation and should lead to further investigation. Suprasellar calcifications have not been demonstrated roentgeno-graphically, in spite of microscopic evidence. In the absence of other findings the eeg may have considerable localizing value. The condition is not as rare in advanced age as the paucity of reports would suggest, for apparently many such cases are unreported or escape detection.
