Abstract
With our present day highly mobile population, the diagnosis of kala-azar must be considered in any patient presenting with fever, enlarged liver and spleen, anemia and leukopenia who has visited a region where this disease is endemic, particularly since the incubation period may be as long as a year. We report a case in which disseminated intravascular coagulation was an un usual complication. Keywords
