Abstract
Simultaneous fibrinogen and platelet survival with Se 75 methionine were determined in 5 children with kala-azar. Platelet survival and sites of platelet destruction were studied with Cr 51 chromate in one patient. The platelet life-span was found to be slightly reduced in all patients, probably due to increased destruction in the spleen. The fibrinogen survival was also shown to be lower and this phenomenon was attributed to the increased fibrinolytic activity of plasma. Keywords
