Abstract
A patient with Wegener''s granulomatosis is presented. Despite 80 mg of prednisone daily, the patient developed uremia and fulminating glomerulonephritis. Treatment with nitrogen mustard, followed by chlorambucil resulted in a complete remission which has lasted over a year. A review of the literature was made regarding the use of radio-therapy and corticosteroids in the treatment of this disorder. An analysis of the results indicated that radiotherapy is useful only as an adjunct in the treatment of localized lesions. Early use of large doses of corticosteroids in the course of this disorder is beneficial. If immediate improvement does not occur, the use of alkylating agents is recommended. Keywords
