Abstract
We have estimated a threshold current of a microcavity surface emitting laser with a cylindrical optical waveguide and quantum well structure. The possibility of extremely low-threshold-current (I th<1 µA) operation of a GaAlAs/GaAs laser is suggested. Keywords
