Abstract
It is shown that the inclusive cross section for production of a single soft, neutral vector meson in scattering vanishes like at in the center-of-mass system for mesons radiated from the external nucleon legs. Comparison of the resulting single-pion distribution with the CERN Intersecting Storage Rings data makes it unlikely that present data in the pionization region can be understood in a conventional bremsstrahlung picture.
