Abstract
A bio-assay for anti-inflammatory substances was developed using normal immature guinea pigs subjected to a severe reverse Arthus inflammation of the ankle joint created by the intra-articular injection of rabbit anti-guinea pig serum. The measurement of the difference in ankle swellings between unprotected animals and those protected by previously administered anti-inflammatory agents indicated a highly significant prevention of swelling in the latter. Keywords
