Abstract
For superconductors of very small size the terms in the Ginsburg-Landau free energy which describe spatial fluctuations can be neglected. The remaining terms are treated exactly and comparison with Marcelja's theory shows a slight reduction in the magnitude of the fluctuations. The specific heat is also calculated, and an extension to one dimensional specimens presented. Keywords
