Abstract
A family is described in which two individuals were found to be homozygous for the fluoride-resistant gene. The probable dibucaine number for individuals having thegenotypes E1f E1f and E1f E1s has been deduced from the values obtained from this family in addition to other pertinent datafrom the literature. The mean dibucaine number is 67.3. Similar data has been used to calculate the probable fluoride number for the genotypes E1f E1f and E1f E1s. This fluoride number is 36.7.This family provides additional support to the hypothesis that the fluoride-resistant gene is in allele of those determining the biosynthesis of the usual and atypical pseudocholinesterase variants. Keywords
