Abstract
Properties of even- and odd-parity levels of 19F are shown to be well understood in terms of an α-15N plus t-16O coupled channel orthogonality condition model. The properties of the levels investigated are E1, E2, E3 and M1 transitions, α-widths and t-widths. In particular, the observed E2 transitions are systematically reproduced with no additional charge. These features are discussed from a viewpoint of α- and t-clustering correlations in the wave functions and also from the interference of these two cluster states. The properties of 19Ne are also discussed. Keywords
