Abstract
The disappearance from the circulation of Heinz bodies, produced by incubation of blood with phenylhydrazine, was studied in normal and splenectomized rabbits. In the intact animal, red cells damaged by this procedure are removed largely by the spleen. In both intact and splenectomized rabbits, the Heinz bodies are withdrawn from the circulation by removal in toto of the red cells containing them. Keywords
