Abstract
To the Editor: Aggio et al.1 reported pure red-cell aplasia in a pregnant woman that improved rapidly after cesarean section at 30 weeks' gestation. We describe here a similar patient whose clinical status was completely reversed by artificial abortion and steroid therapy.A 23-year-old woman began to experience exertional palpitation and easy fatigability in the middle of September, 1977. At a local hospital, she was found to have a profound anemia and referred to us. Her past history was unremarkable except for artificial abortion done in 1973. A full-term normal infant was subsequently delivered after an uneventful pregnancy in 1975. . . .Keywords
