Abstract
In congenital night blindness of the Schubert-Bornschein type both fast and slow EOG oscillations were found to be normal. In acquired night blindness due to vitamin A deficiency no EOG oscillations are recordable. In ischemic retinopathy the fast EOG oscillations are preserved, whereas the slow EOG oscillations are impaired. These results suggest that the fast EOG oscillations are generated in the receptor pigment epithelium layer. The slow EOG oscillations appear to be originating in the inner nuclear layer
