Abstract
The use of traffic monitoring techniques based on imageprocessing algorithms for supervising urban vehicleflows could be very useful. Classical inductive loopscan only compute traffic density on a single lane but areunable to estimate, for example, the behaviour of thevehicle flow at a crossroad. In this paper a system thatestimates the turning rates at an urban crossroad byprocessing the sequence of images taken by a videocamerais presented. Block matching motion estimation,...Keywords
