Abstract
Cebus and Rhesus monkeys suppress the in vivo production of cholesterol when fed cholesterol. This suppression is less than that observed in rats and it did not occur in Lagothrix monkeys. Cebus monkeys deficient in cystine lose their efficiency in removing cholesterol when the body pool is large. One result is an elevation of the plasma level of cholesterol. This publication has 8 references indexed in Scilit:
