Abstract
The decay of the giant-resonance region in has been studied in a angular correlation experiment via the reaction chain (, ) *(). The correlation functions are in agreement with the assumption of predominant strength for the resonance around MeV, but require considerable strengths of excitation modes higher than for the resonance around MeV. The coincident -particle spectra show significant fine structure in the giant-resonance region.
