Abstract
The esterase demonstrated histochemically in the conducting system of the human, dog, cat, guinea-pig rabbit and rat heart was identified as cholinesterase. The enzyme was found to be localized in the myofibrils. The alpha-naphthyl and naphthol AS esterase positive cells of the rat heart were identified as macrophages. Keywords
