Abstract
Some cholinesterases readily hydrolyze esters of choline with higher fatty acids (C12-C18). Since these esterases survived acetone fixation and paraffin embedding, they could be demonstrated histochemically by incubating paraffin sections with the substrates mentioned, in the presence of Co++. At the sites of enzymatic activity Co soap precipitated which was transformed into black CoS. The distribution of cholinesterase in several organs was described. Keywords
