Abstract
A low density expansion for the pair connectedness in a gas is obtained by methods similar to those used for a solid. In the case of an ideal lattice gas a change of variable enables the usual expansion for a solid to be re-derived. The new formulation allows the use of renormalisation techniques and k-space diagrams. The possibility of interactions is also considered. Keywords
