Abstract
Herniation of intervertebral disks into the congenitally narrowed spinal canal of the achondroplastic dwarf is a not uncommon cause of compression of the spinal cord and cauda equina in these patients. Back pain with weakness progressing to paraplegia may result if sugical decompression is not performed before irreversible changes occur. Two clinical syndromes were described. Keywords
