Many-Electron Wave Functions

Abstract
If it is possible to describe the state of an atom by the addition of several vectors, and if one assumes the wave function for any state of a configuration to be a linear combination of product functions for that configuration, then one can determine the coefficients in the linear combination by a simple method. Examples are given. The usual interval formula is not applicable for 2p3, where nonsplitting is the case.
