Abstract
1. Follicular fluid was collected by aspiration from the ovaries of cows which had been treated with pregnant mare serum, and were killed 3–4 days after heat.2. Various chemical determinations have been carried out with samples of follicular fluid which, amongst others, was found to contain 39–43 mg./ 100 ml. of glucose, between 13 and 95 mg./100 ml. of lactic acid, and 0·8–3·0 mg./100 ml. of ascorbic acid.3. The effect of follicular fluid upon sperm fructolysis was examined; however, no effect other than that due to the glucose content of the follicular fluid, could be observed. Keywords
