Abstract
Light propagation is measured through a multiple-scattering medium, and the scattering mean-free path is measured for different densities of scatterers. We analyze the effect of detector orientation relative to the light source, an effect of the anisotropy of the photon current. We compare light propagation in an infinite geometry to reflectance in a backscattering experiment. We compare to models for the boundary conditions applicable at the interface between the scattering medium and the adjacent free medium. These consist of linear combinations of absorbing and reflecting boundary conditions. Keywords
