Abstract
Ionization collisions between two excited hydrogen atoms are investigated theoretically for the case of simultaneous deexcitation of one of the atoms. An improved impulse approximation is employed to evaluate the cross sections and to look into the state and collision-energy dependence of the cross section. A new interesting phenomenon is found in the behavior of the cross sections as a function of collision energy. Keywords
