Differential and Total Proton Cross Sections, Particle Production, and the Parton Model

Abstract
Using parton-model concepts together with data on resonance production in proton-proton interaction, we present a model for elastic scattering and total cross sections. The energy dependence is the result of gluon-gluon annihilation. The comparison with experiment shows remarkable agreement.
