Abstract
Paramagnetic resonance absorption measurements have been made with single crystals of cadmium sulfide containing europium (II). The results can be fitted to the usual spin-Hamiltonian for state. The zero field splitting is about 0.4 . A comparison of the results with present theories for the crystal field splittings of is made.
