Abstract
ENDOCARDITIS due to Histoplasma capsulatum is rare. To our knowledge only 16 documented cases have been reported in the literature.1 Histoplasmosis is responsible for approximately a third of all reported cases of fungal endocarditis.2 , 3 The purpose of this paper is to present a case of histoplasma endocarditis that was undetected clinically.Case ReportA 59-year-old married retired Air Force sergeant from Tennessee entered the hospital on May 6, 1965.
