Abstract
The formation of methane from C14 labeled carbonate infused into the rumen has been demonstrated. For a number of hours after feeding, 20-40% of eructed methane is derived from sources not in rapid equilibrium with infused carbonate. Eructed methane specific activities greater than that of the eructed CO2 were observed and appear to be due to dilution of the labeled CO2 with unlabeled CO2.This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
