Abstract
Presentation of CaseA 36-year-old man was admitted to the hospital because of pain in the left leg.The patient had had diabetes mellitus since the age of nine years. Six years before admission the nephrotic syndrome and hypertension developed. One year later he received laser treatment to the right eye because of diabetic retinopathy. Four years before entry chronic renal failure occurred and progressed, and six months later extracorporeal hemodialysis was begun. Four months later bilateral native nephrectomy was performed, and a cadaveric renal allograft was implanted. Antithymocyte globulin, prednisone, and azathioprine were administered.
