Abstract
The fruit fly is turning out to be a valuable model of human neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson's disease (PD) and a useful tool for screening potential therapeutics for treating these illnesses. In his Perspective, Helfand discusses a new fly model of PD in which the loss of dopaminergic neurons is prevented by expression of chaperone proteins ( Auluck et al.).Keywords
