Abstract
Reports the observation of a plasmon-gain satellite of the KL2,3L2,3(1D) Auger line in Mg and Al metal. For both metals the integrated intensity of this satellite is approximately 1.2% of the parent line; this is in good agreement with an estimate based on a theory presented by Almbladh (1974) and supports the importance of intrinsic plasmon losses as derived from intensity measurements of the plasmon-loss lines. Keywords
