Abstract
PARAGON provides a platform for hardware-software partitioning for systems specified in the C++ language. In this paper, we are going to introduce PARAGON emphasizing how the synchronization and communication among the used processors are built during and after the partitioning. The partitioned specification consists of multiprocessors communicating with abstract methods. It is a C++ specification with the processors encapsulated in processor classes. Built-in communication is modelled by predefined communication class objects. It can be compiled directly and thus makes it easy to execute a simulation. Finally, it is well-suited in further processing by standard processors and hardware synthesis systems. Keywords
