Abstract
In this article the diet of the wild goat (Capra pyrenaica Schinz, 1838) has been analized, through the analysis of 40 stomach contents collected in spring and summer time in the National Reserve of Sierra de Gredos (center-west of Spain). 78 vegetable species have been identified in the 20 samples of spring and 100 in the summer ones. The trophic components more consumed in both periods have been the grasses, contributing with more than 80%. The most relevant species were Deschampsia flexuosa, Festuca indigesta ssp. gredensis, Agrostis truncatula, Nardus stricta, Festuca iberica and Pseudarrhenaterum longifolium, the biomass contributed by every one of them have varied according to the season. The food regimen during both seasons has consisted fundamentally in herbaceous plants, since they have represented more than 90% of the consumed biomass in everyone of them, while the ligneous ones contributed the 6.57% in spring and the 5.8% in summer. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
