STUDY OF ADRENAL FUNCTION IN CHILDREN WITH MENINGITIS

Abstract
Adrenal function in steroid-untreated fulminating meningococcemic patients was studied and compared with that in other types of bacterial meningitis and in asceptic meningoencephalitis. Concentration of cortisol in plasma, urinary excretion of 17-hydroxycorticosteroids, cortisol production rates, and urinary excretion of catecholamines were determined.
