Abstract
The concn. of circulating 17-hydroxycorticosteroids in the peripheral venous blood of normal adults, the range of normal values, diurnal variations and the day fluctuations were studied using the method of Nelson and Samuels. The normal plasma level in young adults was 13 [plus or minus] 6 [mu]g.; in elderly subjects the avg. was 12 [plus or minus] 6 [mu]g. Diurnal studies revealed the highest concn. in the morning. For any one individual a marked variation in levels was present from day to day and week to week. Keywords
