Abstract
To the Editor: In her Sounding Board article (Feb. 18 issue),1 Dr. June Osborn suggests that quarantine of people infected with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) "must lurk in the minds of those who seem irresistibly drawn to mandatory screening programs." Such an assertion is absurd and does a grave disservice to our colleagues who have been working long and hard to achieve a balanced public health policy regarding the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS).Why so much interest in testing?
