Abstract
The preparation of high-T c Y-Ba-Cu-O superconducting filaments was studied by die-free spinning. An aqueous solution of Y, Ba and Cu nitrate containing PVA and dispersant was prepared, then the reacted mixture of the Y-Ba-Cu-O powder was dispersed in the solution to make slurry-type spin dope. The spin mixture was gently withdrawn and coiled on a winding drum. The long filament obtained was about 150 µm in diameter and consisted of up to 66.7 wt% nitrate and 26.7 wt% oxide content. The filament was heated to remove volatile components and to generate the layered perovskite phase. The heated filament exhibited superconductivity at 82 K.Keywords
