Abstract
Methods for determining dynamic system models from test data have been developed at the Bonneville Power Administration, in support of HVDC Modulation and other projects. Associated computer routines allow multiple sets of frequency response measurements, and accommodate loops and other structural features in the model. Fitting criteria include both gain and phase in the error measures, with a choice of constrained minimization algorithms. These routines have been interfaced to the BPA Electromagnetic Transients Program for state-space modeling of frequency dependence in transmission lines, and have digital-filter design capabilities. Keywords
