Abstract
Electron diffraction patterns of the motallic dichalcogenide 2H-TaS2 show weak streaking between the Bragg spots, diffuse peaks occurring on these streaks. The peaks aro near to the positions of the extra reflections found in lT1-TaS2 and associated with a periodic lattico distortion in that material. Some of the electrons scattered into the streaks undergo an energy loss of about 60% of that of the normal first plasmon loss. Keywords
