Abstract
A study has been carried out on how organizations have introduced and developed a formal process of quality improvement. The study also focused on identifying the problems or barriers that are encountered either during the introduction and development of the process or in attempting to monitor and assess the effectiveness of the process at any stage during its development and advancement. As part of this work, a literature survey of the English language papers was conducted on these themes. This paper presents, as a management critique, the main findings of the literature search on the measurement of quality improvement and, in addition, guidance is also provided on some authoritative reading on the subject. Keywords
