Abstract
An alternative to ring lasers for spin-rate sensing is proposed, which is less sensitive but potentially more compact. It consists of a two-mirror CW laser supporting a higher-order TEMplLaguerre-Gaussian mode of the ring type, isolated by means of a uniform annular distribution of net gain. Keywords
