Abstract
Inoculation of the skin with tubercle bacilli is an occupational hazard of those who work with tuberculosis and is not unknown in ordinary contacts. The clinical picture that results is in a large measure determined by the patient''s previous status with respect to tuberculous infection. In any event treatment may be conservative with rest, X-ray therapy, antituberculous agents like streptomycin or p-aminosalicylic acid or, on the other hand, judicious surgery may be promptly and permanently curative.
