Abstract
We investigated the magnetic-field dependence of the excitonic absorption spectra originating from quantized levels (n=1 and 2) of CdTe/ Te multiple quantum wells in pulsed high magnetic fields up to 40 T. We observed the large Zeeman splitting of the heavy-hole exciton in the dependence of the absorption peak energies. The magnetic-field and the quantum-well-thickness dependences of the Zeeman splittings are explained by considering the heterointerface effect related to frustrated antiferromagnetism, in addition to the effect of the excitonic wave function penetrating into the Te barrier layer previously reported.
