Abstract
The distance dependence of the strength of the magnetic interaction between Mn atoms dissolved in Pd is proposed on the basis of the experimental results for the spontaneous magnetisation at T=0, the 'step' in the electrical resistivity and for magnetic entropy as deduced from specific heat. Using this interaction a Monte-Carlo calculation of the specific heat and other properties has been carried out and compared with the experimental data. Keywords
