Abstract
The theory of communication proposed by German philosopher Jürgen Habermas has important implications for argumentation scholars, contemporary rhetorical theorists, and students of human interaction processes. This essay explicates and evaluates essential features of Habermas’ theory and indicates ties among Habermas’ concepts and the work of several speech communication scholars. Keywords
