Abstract
A simple combination of a wide‐band differential amplifier and a spectrum analyzer is shown to be equivalent to a frequency‐swept interferometer, which can yield phase information on wide‐band random signals. Measurements of plasma wave dispersion, and correlation times and lengths are presented for ion acoustic turbulence in the positive column. Keywords
